Description

El proyecto extraero oro, esta situado en la Cordillera Occidental de los Andes, abarca parte del valle denominado Alto Chicama a una altura de 4150 msnm. La preocupacion principal entre la poblacion es la potencial contaminacion de las numerosas lagunas que se encuentran a mas de 4000msnm. Barrick planea usar para sus operaciones, lagunas que permanentemente y durante siglos, son el medio de subsistencia para la poblacion.
