The OL Land project of Jean-Michel Aulas is meant to implement a huge sports complex on 50 hectares of land subject to the Council of Décines, 15 km from Lyon. OL Land includes the new 60,000 seat stadium, the training of the professional team centre, the headquarters offices of OL Groupe, a shop OL Stadium, 7000 parking spaces, many leisure and entertainment facilities including hundred and fifty hotel rooms and 8,000 square meters of office buildings. In fact, opponents affirm that 'it is more than just a football stadium for professional football, it is a business metropolis built for economical profit because the stadium itself would occupy only 5 hectares'. In other words, it is a full urban development operation that uses the excuse of a new stadium. |
